Work Group Goals and Activities
Our goals are:
1. Sharing mental health and wellness resources, and
2. Promoting policies that support mental wellness.
The Mental Wellness Work Group (MWWG) is comprised of organizations from all areas of Anne Arundel County who work together to promote and share local resources that support mental wellness.
Join us! Work group meetings are open to the community. MWWG meets every other month on the second Wednesday from 9am - 10am on Zoom. For more information, contact HealthyAnneArundel@aacounty.org.
Mental Health Legislation
It is important to the Mental Wellness Work Group to stay current with local laws, bills, and changes in policy.
During the legislative season (January through April each year) Healthy Anne Arundel provides weekly updates to email subscribers about certain topics related to mental health. In 2024, we tracked more than 30 bills related to youth mental health, access to services, and substance use.
If you would like to be added to our legislation email list, please click the button to the right.

Mental Health Awareness Month 2024
Each year, Healthy Anne Arundel observes Mental Health Awareness Month by keeping the conversation about mental wellness going. We encourage residents to share their thoughts about self-care, acceptance, and support.
During the May 2023 campaign, there were more than 30 public events held, including the Mental Health Agency’s annual kickoff event. Many organizations joined the campaign by lighting up green, and even more showed support for their staff and clientele through guided meditation, team bonding activities, group walks, discussions about mental health, and spending time outdoors.
Crisis Response Warmline 410-768-5522
The Anne Arundel County "Community Warmline" provides support to people in crisis and helps to connect them with the services they need.
The Warmline can receive calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is open to all ages.
It doesn’t have to be an emergency. Crisis staff will provide information, support, and referrals for non-emergency calls. If needed, a counselor can come to you.
